Why did early African American females wore Braids? “[Hairstyles needed to] last an entire week.” Without time, resources or products, African-American women took to wearing their hair in a more simplistic fashion. The women chose easier-to-manage styles, like single plaits, and used oils they had on hand, such as kerosene, to condition them. The Early North American Sister didn't use as much decor in hers as back in Mother Africa, or in the Caribbean, but she did Braid her Hair. We feel that the Styles are even more Beautiful today than ever. If you find yourself in Toledo Ohio, feel free to consult with Diarra @Diarra's African Braids.
